EXPANSION PROJECT

In the end of 2023, a unique opportunity arose that allowed us to pursue the purchase of an existing building in town that would allow for both the expansion of our physical collection and our growing community-centered programs. The proposed location is one that would maintain our accessibility to town residents and remain highly visible to visitors along Hwy 82, but it, as all good things tend to do, requires a good deal of financial support, time, and a community effort to make it come to fruition.

It is with great anticipation that we share with you our plans, and ask for your partnership in this exciting project. As always, thank you to our supporters and patrons who have continued to come alongside us every step of the way. Your support of our local library is greatly appreciated!

Won't you please help us Fund the Next Chapter of Saint Jo Public Library.

Saint Jo Grocery_edited_edited.jpg

Located along Highway 82, the old Saint Jo Grocery store is 7400sqft of potential just waiting for a new life! Where once people stocked up on groceries to feed their stomachs, we aim to provide shelves filled with sustenance to feed the mind.

With plenty of parking space and room to expand our adult, teen and children's catalog of books, we see this as an opportunity to expand our efforts as a vibrant community partner while preserving a bit of history in a well known location within Saint Jo city limits.

The proposed layout provides space for program rooms, separate spaces for our collection of books on Texas & Local History,  Teen, Children's and Adult interest, and "living spaces" for community gathering and small events. Study space and workrooms provide opportunity for expanded education projects and collaborations.
